I am looking to plan a trip to India for the first time. I will go for 3 weeks, some time in 2006 and am thinking of visiting Kerala.



Does anyone have a view on when is the best time of year to go, for weather etc.?

The most temperate weather is generally from November to February. It's also when most tourists come, so it's the high season. March-May/June is the hot season and it does get extremely hot. June-August/Sept is monsoon. It can be cooler in monsoon,l and it's a lovely time of year, but it can also cause problems with transportation and getting around to sightsee. Sept and Oct are also pretty nice and not as hot.
