In a couple of years, i will be taking a Winter European tour and we will be staying in Lucerne for two nights. On the whole day that we are in Lucerne we have the whole day to ourselves. I want to see the lion monument and chapel bridge. Since i know lucerne is close to Vaduz. How do i get from lucerne to vaduz. i am only going to vaduz to add another country to my trip and get the passport stamp. Is it possible to visit vaduz from lucerne with a 6 hour window.

Luzern to Vaduz by train, journey time about 2:30 hours one way, price about CHF 80 return. This would perfectly fit your schedule for a stroll around to find the tourist office where you can get your passport stamped. There is no customs/immigration control between Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Train schedules from www.sbb.ch and Liechtenstein information from www.liechtenstein.li

Granted but one can get the Liechtenstein stamp only in Vaduz. Nothing wrong with that, it's choice so why not ?

If I want to eat a plate of spaghetti so let me have that and try not convince me there is a better meal ! If I want a beer don't try sell me a glass of wine ! Want me to go on ?

Hi - we are also thinking of going to Switzerland next year and staying in Lucerne for a few nights. Is the train trip to Vaduz very scenic? It might be fun just to go there.

Thanks

@Tazz Yes the train ride to Vaduz is mostly scenic and some parts are along bigger lakes in the mountains (lake lucerne, Zug, Zurich and Walen). You pass many great places along the way, but there is not much in Liechtenstein. For timetables see www.sbb.ch/en the last part to Vaduz is by bus.
