I've never been out of the U.S., but I'm planning a trip to Kuru, Kururu in Guyana this summer. Does anyone know anything about Kururu and what I should expect during the stay?
Also please address:
(1) What not to eat?
(2) Ways to deal with the heat?
(3) What to wear?
(4) Can I take canned food & bottled water with me on the plane?
(5) What vaccines are necessary?
(6) How bad are ...

I was extremely pleased to have read that over two hundred German tourists visited Guyana yesterday.
This is great news and an encouragement for the tourism sector in Guyana.
The news appeared on this link:

Well done Guyana!

I tried to find some information about transportation between Georgetown and Paramaribo and it's very confusing...
Ground transprotation seem to be very long.
For air transportation, i didn't find any website that work for reservation. Can you tell me the price (approximatively) for a roundtrip ticket from Georgetown to Paramaribo????
thanx

My wife and I hope to visit Guyana early next year. Our interests are mainly the wildlife and we would prefer an organised tour of 2-3 weeks. The sites I have seen so far look quite expensive(ca.3000),does anybody have experience of a reasonably priced, reliable, company? As for the flights we would like to break the return journey in Trinidad. Is this possible and would it involve a very increased cost?Any info. would be appreciated.Thanks.

Let me elaborate, on this incident. I was 071280travel's travel companion.
In advance of our trip to Guyana, we booked a trip through Rainforest Tours that was to include time at Baganara, Rock View, and Kaiteur Falls. We were given a price quote, agreed to it, agreed to pay for the trip when we arrived in Georgetown. When in Georgetown - minutes after running the credit card, literally - Frank Singh claimed one of our ...

Guyana is one of the least marketed places in the Caribbean...but absolutely beautiful, if you are a lover of nature and you love flora and fauna...its definitely the place to go. There is so much to do, the food, the culture, the sights. If you are adventurous its a great destination.

Hi. We're planning to visit Guyana for 3 weeks between September & Novemeber 2010 and would apprecaite any contributors latest news on best way to appreciate/sample natural history hotspots. Also any recommended local agents/guides for travel arrangements and good locally-run accommodations; we dont seek 4 stars - just clean, comfortable and friendly establishments. We have the latest Bradt guide to assist with planning but inevitably it will be out of date in some respects. We ...
