Am I right in thinking that I would be able to use my cashpoint Card which is a Maestro in Goa? I never take a credit card or travellers cheques only cash, but since you obtain the rupees when your there, i am wondering if this is going to be the best way to get money. Really dont want to carry a wedge of english money with me there.

I had booked Goa for last Christmas but ubfortunately mum took ill and had to cancel. planning to go this year, want a really good hotel for first time up to 5* price no problem, quite lively but not over top for me and hubby, have decided by looking through to not go AI so.............. any suggestions for 1st time holiday?

Hoping to stay in around Benaulim for 2or 3 days and then maybe jungle or a boat trip or where?- definately elephant and spice ... savoi? where best? Forum saying everything so fantastic, dont know where to start or how to limit cramming everything in...? Should we go for a 'base camp' and then flit around... dont like resort type hotels ...do love the way everyone sounds so in love with Goa on this site.. ...
