If you are visiting Montenegro by road from Croatia you may be approached at the roadside waiting in the queue passport control to purchase a map. This may cost about 5 Euros.Turn it down as they are only tourist brochures which you can get free at the garage just down the road as you have crossed the border.

Do not stay in the Ivan Do campsite, unless you are ready for really really poor facilities. There is 1 toilet and 1 shower, both of which you share with the owner and another lady. This would probably be bearable, but unfortunately it is the dirtiest toilet and shower I've come across in a long time. Whilst I love camping, I think the only answer in Durmitor is to stay in private rooms (fairly affordable). ...

I was in Montenegro last May and loved it; but could not find the entrance to Durmitor. Is there an "official " entrance? All I can find on the internet is 3 km from Zabljak is a dirt road which leads to it, BUT there are no signs whatsoever for the Durmitor. We will be coming from Biogordska Gora. If you can help get directions to the lakes etc I'd be very happy. Thanks, Shelli ...

Is Montenegro coastal towns (Budva) cheaper than Croatia (Dubrovnik-Korcula)...or roughly the same prices for food/beer etc
I have noticed Bosnia is cheaper for accomodation and food.

Hi, Looking at 2 nights at the Hotel Villa Duomo, but a bit worried that it is a bit away from things. We will be in Kotor one full day, and plan to spend most of this day, out on Kotor Bay The remainder of the time, we would like to wonder around the town, and get a good feel of the place. Should we stay at the Hotel Villa Duomo, or try to stay ...

Post subject: apartment / house in montenegro wanted for two weeks Posted: Mon Aug 10, 2009 9:10 am |

Hello All
Have been looking for a private/secluded house to rent in montenegro. Recession is on and it all looks a bit pricey. Is it worth me contacting some of the owners who have accommodation advertised with an offer? The accommodation is for two adults and one child. We did Northern Cyprus last year and had a great bungalow with a shared pool for 450.00. This is our budget for the next trip. Any advice ...

Hi, Looking at travelling from Kotor to Dubrovnik, by bus. Would anyone know where you purchase tickets etc. i.e. at the bus terminal or online. What is the cost ? Is there a bus at 3.00 pm and another at 5.00 pm. Have been given a price of 100 euro for private transport.. Looking forward to tips on Kotor. RSA

We are going to Montenegro in June and flying in to Dubrovnik. We want to rent a car at Dubrovnik airport to drive to Kotor where we are staying.
There are comments on TA advising that there is no problem doing this, but they are all a bit out of date.
Does anybody have more recent experience and recommendations of the best company to use.
Thank you
