In Belgrade you can go to high budget restaurants, but to be honest the great thing for visitors is trying national food in moderate restaurants. You'll get a much better idea of local flavours, customs and ambience, some of the national rustic dishes are truly delicious and beat high end dining. Also of course, if you go too high end, you eat in places similar to what you can find anywhere in Europe - so ...

Post subject: Transport to/from Partizan Stadium Posted: Thu Jul 19, 2007 8:54 pm |

A good look round the net yields no information.
I guess that a taxi from downtown to the stadium will be easy.
Or is there a suburban rail station near the ground?
Any ideas will be appreciated

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to obtain currency in the UK prior to travel? If not is the best way to get currency to use an ATM whilst over there?

Post subject: Belgrade at Easter Posted: Sat May 01, 2010 11:26 pm |

I'm thinking of going on a weekend trip to Belgrade Easter (23rd/24th April) 2011. From what I understand this is both the Western and Orthodox Easter weekend for this year. Will the city be lively in terms of nightlife? How much of the city in the daytime will shut down.
Thanks,
Chris

I'm travelling in 2 weeks time on a Saga cruise and we spend approx a day in each of the above . Can i take a few English pounds with me to change up for local currency? I was planning on taking the bulk of my money in Euros but am now getting worried about the currencies for the above countries.

Hi all
We are thinking of going to Belgrade for Christmas. ( January 6th, 7th, 8th) Could anyone tell us if transport is running and shops are open at this time. We are also interested to know if bars, clubs and restaurants are open or if they close down for the holiday
Thanks for any advice

I will be visiting Belgrade from 21-25 October, predominantly to go to the 'Eternal' derby Red Star v Partizan, but also to see as much of the city as possible. I have several questions and would be grateful for any advice or assistance:
- I have a room at Hotel Excelsior and intend getting the bus from the airport, where is the best stop to get off?
- From my hotel is the 'Marakana' Stadium ...

Post subject: Taxi from Belgrade airport - how to avoid being ripped off. Posted: Mon Feb 04, 2008 6:26 am |

There has been many a thread on this subject, and I agree with your observation but would say that if you stand your ground and make it clear you know the going rate (and use a licensed taxi) there should be no problem.
I always agree a price before getting in the taxi, proper licensed taxi will have registration number with blue sign on the roof, you take note, and you ask for a receipt ...

Hi
We're coming to Belgrade in a few days and I was curious whether there was a good taxi service (not those that rip you off as soon as you get out of the airport), that's honest and has a standard rate that I could call and order a cab? Which do you suggest? What's the rate to the city centre from the airport?
Thanks
Tina
