News of Sweden

We're a family with children ages 9 and 12. We would like to visit Sweden in summer. Where do you suggest we visit?

We are a family of 4-2 adults and 2 children. We are finding it difficult to find accomodation in Stockholm. We would like either a family room in a hotel for all four of us or an appartment. Can anyone help us? We'll be visiting Stockholm next August.

Based on our recent experience, I don't recommend this hotel.



When we arrived the Hotel Rival did not have a room for us, they stated that they have problems with expedia, and work hard to honor reservations right up until the moment the guest arrives. I felt that they owed us an obligation to have refused the reservation so that we could have picked another hotel.

Am arriving 10/6/08, six night stay at Hotel Norrtull. Asking for airport transportation info, must see places, great food places, things you would do differently. Thank you soo much!

We went for 3 days in late July. It is expensive, no doubt - so be prepared to spend, regardless what you do. Stockholm is incredibly clean and the people take care of the city. The pungent smell of water was not noticeable. Hit Gamla Stan - Old Town - lots of nooks an crannies ot explore. Be careful of people trying to run the shell game on you. I would like to do something special. There is a typical dinner (maybe in a near Island), a typical spa (maybe near Stockholm) that I could do?

I am going for my birthday and I would like to do something special for me and my boyfriend.

Where can I go to eat near to the Crystal Plaza Hotel on Birger Jarlsgatan? On a budget and would love to eat Swedish food (I'm half Danish and like Scandinavian food!) Jazz bar for a drink would be great too!

My sister and and i, with 2 x teenage daughters are travelling to Kiruna by night train in Feb 2009 for a winter break - please can anyone advise what sort of food/ dining / drinking facilities are available on night train services. we have booked 2 x compartments for the journey - but are unsure as to whether we need to take a picnic.
