I am planning to stay in Interlaken for 8D/9N from 1 May to 10 May 2006 with my husband and daughter, age 5 years. I want to know if the weather will be suitable to move around the Bernese Oberland by train. I have only heard of Jungfraujoch and Mt. Titlis so far. I am sure there are other mountain places to visit. could somebody advise, please, keeping in mind my daughter's age. Also, is ...

I was wondering if this is possible. We will stay in Zurich and take an early train to Geneva. We were told that 2 hrs should be enough to see Geneva. We are planning to take a train to Montreux and Chillon rest of the day and go back to Zurich.
Thanks,

We are spending a long weekend in Geneva at the end of the month and wonder what is the best way of buying bus and train tickets? We will need the train from the airport into the city and will probably use buses whilst there. Is there a pass that would be good value? or any kind of multi ticket? I have been told that you can buy tickets at a tobacconist and then validate ...

Post subject: Wengen vs. Interlaken Posted: Sun Aug 13, 2006 8:29 pm |

In another thread a few weeks ago, someone asked about Wengen, and then changed her mind and decided to stay in Interlaken. Let me offer a comparison for other tourists trying to decide whether a stay in Wengen might be for them.
Interlaken and Wengen, though only about 6 miles and a 30 to 45 minute steep mountain train ride apart, are very different places. Certainly, many people could have a great time in either ...

Post subject: Staying in Wengen with a car Posted: Fri Jun 23, 2006 6:40 am |

It seems that all the best places to stay are in car free villages! What do people who are travelling by car do?
I am really keen to find more of a charming inn rather than a big hotel - really anywhere in this area. All suggestions very welcome.
Thanks
Sally

Post subject: Hotel La Paix - offer too good to miss? Posted: Tue Aug 19, 2008 7:29 pm |

Hello Geneva experts. Can't quite decide which hotel to plump for but have found on the owners website (Concorde) what seems like a phenomenal offer of 280 chf per night for this newly restored hotel. The reviews that are coming in now seem to be good. I was thinking of The Jade Hotel which is coming in at around 215 chf a night and although this includes a light breakfast it doesn't look in the ...

Hi, all Switzerland experts--hoping you can help us. We're a family of 4, incl. 2 adults plus our 16-year-old twins (just missed the Family Card cut-off there).
