Hello all,
I live in the UK, England.
For anybody who hasn't yet heard, I read an article today stating that the Ukrainian government will be lifting tourist restrictions to the zone in 2011. (How safe is this!?). I have planned for at least a year to visit Pripyat with 3 of my friends, and was going to book/organize my visit in February 2011 well in advance for a July 2011 visit. This included a ...

Hi everyone,
This thread was inspired by some questions I received recently and discussions that followed.
IN NO WAY I aim to solicit or encourage visits to Chornobyl. I am only trying to help potential visitors to take an informative decision.
Please, conduct your own thorough prior research for as deep understanding of the experience and the related risks as possible. Please, decide responsibly if this is something you really want to do.
Do keep ...

Hi Everyone,
I am planning a trip to Kiev and traveling all over Ukraine in early January. Yes, January. Seems crazy but I'm Canadian so I couldn't be more excited but I do have one concern and that is that it will be too quiet, with good reason of course.
Can I expect it to be quiet just for the 7th of January or does it stay relatively quiet for the week. As I'm sure ...

Post subject: things to do in Kyiv Posted: Wed Jan 25, 2006 8:51 pm |

Hello, everybody!
Maybe someone can help me with my "technical" question?
I know for sure that Kyiv has much more "things to do" than are presented here.
Is it possible to enlarge the list?
Or it is only decided by TA-management?
with best wishes from Kyiv )

This summer, family and I will go looking for family roots/possible relatives in Putivl, where my grandfather was born. I believe there is a single hotel (named Monastery?) there, but would appreciate any insights/tips from anyone who may have been in this town near Sumy!

Sounds nice - but could you give some contacts of the owners?.. - phone number?..
About Pip Ivan (Black Mountain - 2020m) - it's really one of most interesting spots in Carpathians - with abandoned 1930-ies observatory on the top, - but hiking there from Krasnyk would be too far.
Two best routes to Pip Ivan are from closer villages - from Dziembronia (Berestechko) via Smotrych mnt, - or from vlg Zelene (hamlet Shybene) via ...
