Sugar free is not a problem probably because diabetes is a huge problem in India. My husband is also diabetic and we have never had a problem getting sugar free drinks (I think they use the term "lite". They do cost a little more than ordinary but nothing is very expensive in Goa. Can't remember how much exactly but we think around 25p. I have never tried to buy sweetners - we always take out own - but I am sure you would be able to get in the shops.
